Practitioner Opioid Symposium
January 12 & 13, 2020

The Dallas Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is pleased to present a four and a half hour symposium entitled “Practitioner Opioid Symposium” on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Monday, January 13, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Drive, Hurst, Texas 76054.

This symposium is designed to raise awareness of the current nationwide opioid epidemic for medical professionals. Topics will include drugs of abuse and trends, opioid misuse in the state, the science of addiction, guidelines for prescribing opioids and an overview of DEA requirements regarding the handling of controlled substances pursuant to Federal regulations. There is no registration fee for this symposium.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) through the joint providership of DHR Health and Drug Enforcement Administration. DHR Health is accredited by TMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

DHR Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

NOTE: Individuals interested in attending this event must be a DEA registered Practitioner (e.g. doctor, veterinarian, dentist, physician assistant, and/or nurse practitioner) in the state of Texas.

Due to space limitations, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that any expenses you incur (including, but not limited to, travel, accommodations, and meals) will be your responsibility. Complimentary parking is available at the conference center during the symposium.
